Have You Lost Your Confidence?

I remember the moment I lost my confidence.

You might think I’m the most confident person ever; I’ve spoken at events and conferences all over the world, as well as hosted more than 500 hours of ZOOM, TEAMS and Webex and produced 12,500 hours of live BBC radio!

People say…

"You’re so confident, I can't believe you struggle with self-doubt,
you're so dynamic and out there."

Yes, they are right, I am confident - NOW! But it wasn’t always the case.

Back in primary school, it was a different story.

Miss Baldock had bulging eyes, a witchy nose and a pale face when she looked at me impatiently and said,

"Come on, read the next page OUT LOUD in front of the class."

I was a funny, freckled-faced 7 year old and I could read, but at that moment at primary school in West London, the words on the page blurred into gobbledygook and I suddenly found myself stuttering, stammering, umming and arring!

The Result?

I lost my confidence.

SHE labelled me as “not good enough”!

I was put into the remedial reading group. Can you imagine, I was in with the ‘slow readers'.

Even now I joke about being semi-dyslexic because my spelling is rubbish (thank goodness for spell checker).

It's taken me working as a LIVE producer at the BBC, interviewing the likes of Madonna and George Clooney, reading every Bronte, Shakespeare and Thomas Hardy I could get my hands on and 43 years to shake off that label of "not good enough".

The cure? It’s simple!

These 3 Confidence TIPS have changed my life – they could change yours…

1 - You ARE Brilliant

All too often we focus on the things we AREN’T good at. Stop it. Focus most of your energy on the things you ARE good at and realise that it is impossible to be good at everything.

Ever heard this? “A fish can’t climb a tree, but it’s a mean swimmer!”

2 - Let Them Roll Their Way

There’s no competition, forget what everyone else is doing. Be YOU-ish and find YOUR groove. (Wow, that’s a game-changer!)

3 - Be 100% Confident! (It is possible)

Ok, you may not be 100% confident that you‘ll be the best at chairing the meeting, or the best presenter at the client seminar.

But there’s one thing for sure. You can be 100% confident that you’re going to do your best on the day! Therefore you can be 100% confident! (Ha ha see how you can turn it round?)

I help clients with this every day, and they combat their fears, take the bull by the horns and conjure up the courage to be themselves, deliver excellent speeches, in person or on camera, and nail their panel interviews to get promoted.

You can too.

If you or your team need a massive confidence boost, I can help you roll YOUR way and feel great about yourself/your team immediately. Email me…
